Williams College Department of Art invites applications for a two-year visiting position for an Historian of Ancient Greek or Roman Art beginning July 1, 2006. Appointment will be at the visiting assistant professor level with no possibility of renewal. Applicant must be able to teach a broad range of courses in ancient Greek and Roman art and architecture as well as participate in a team-taught survey of the history of Western sculpture and architecture. Ability to offer a course on methodology of art history or a tutorial course is desirable. Ph.D. preferred. Teaching experience and record of scholarly publication preferred. The Department of Classics at Williams College welcomes applications for a tenure track position in Classics beginning July 1, 2006 at the rank of Assistant Professor. Applications will also be considered from candidates whose records suggest possible appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. We are seeking a broadly trained classicist with a specialty in Latin literature, preferably Latin prose. Strong commitments to undergraduate teaching and to scholarship are equally sought.
