The Department of Classics is seeking applicants for an entry-level tenure-track position as Assistant Professor beginning Fall, 2004. Ph.D. required at time of appointment. Evidence of potential for excellence in teaching, productive scholarship and commitment to the continuing development of our program in classics required. The successful candidate will have strong teaching skills in ancient languages and culture at all levels; a research interest in Latin literature, or in Greek or Roman material culture preferred but all well-qualified generalists will be given full consideration.. Eight courses per year, quarter system (3/3/2). Summer teaching possible. Send letter of application, curriculum vitae, writing sample and three letters of recommendation to Charles S.
