The Department of Classics, Yale University, invites applications for an Assistant Professor with research interests in Greek and/or Latin linguistics, beginning July 1, 2006. Competitive candidates will have an expertise in one or more linguistic disciplines (e.g., comparative linguistics, semantics, syntax) as applied to the Classical languages and be prepared to teach a wide range of language and literature courses at all levels, from beginning Greek/Latin to advanced graduate seminars. Applicants should expect to have the PhD in hand by the time of the appointment and show promise in research and teaching.
