San Francisco, CA

Call for Papers for Panel Sponsored by the Society for the Study of Greek and Latin Language and Linguistics

Greek and Latin Linguistics

Organized by Timothy Barnes, Cambridge University, Benjamin Fortson, the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and Jeremy Rau, Harvard University

The Society for the Study of Greek and Latin Languages and Linguistics solicits submission of abstracts for its panel session at the Chicago meeting of the Society of Classical Studies in 2021. Papers treating any topic in Greek or Latin language and linguistics will be considered for presentation. Abstracts will be evaluated on the basis of merit and relevance to the field. Each panelist will be given 20 minutes for presentation of his/her paper, to be followed by 5 minutes for questions and discussion. Please send abstracts that follow the guidelines for individual abstracts (see the SCS Guidelines for Authors of Abstracts) by email to Prof. Jeremy Rau, Department of the Classics, Harvard University, at rau@fas.harvard.edu by March 1, 2021. Ensure that the abstracts are anonymous. The organizers will review all submissions anonymously, and their decision will be communicated to the authors of abstracts by March 25th, 2021, with enough time that those whose abstracts are not chosen can participate in the individual abstract submission process for the upcoming SCS meeting.
