The Department of Classical Studies at Boston College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor specializing in Latin literature, either Roman drama or Roman philosophy. Ph.D. is required by the time of appointment (July 1, 2015); teaching experience is a plus.

Candidates must be able to teach both Latin and Greek language and literature from the elementary to the advanced level (the latter courses include both undergraduate and M.A. students). The normal teaching load is five courses per year. We seek candidates with broad intellectual interests that will foster cooperation with other departments and the creation of innovative courses in the area of ancient civilization. Readiness to teach a large lecture course such as Roman Civilization or Classical Mythology is desirable.
