The Department of Classics at the University of California, Irvine, invites applications for a full-time lecturer position for 2015-16. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Classics and a minimum of two years of university teaching experience. Ancient Greek and/or Roman History. Fixed term, non-tenure system, nine-month appointment. Michigan State University's Department of History seeks a historian with research and teaching expertise in ancient Greek and/or Roman History. The Department of Greek & Roman Classics at Temple University invites applications from candidates for a non-tenure-track, full-time position for 2015-16. The department has particular needs in Latin language and Roman culture. We seek a colleague with a proven record of successful teaching of Latin at all levels. In addition to Latin, the candidate will be asked to teach a lecture course in Roman civilization and an upper-level, writing-intensive course on the ancient Roman city. Ability to teach a General Education offering on Race in the Ancient Mediterranean is also desirable.
