The Department of Classics at the College of Charleston invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Classics, beginning August 16, 2015.We seek a Roman Historian, committed to teaching Latin at all levels, as well as courses in Roman history in translation. The ability to teach Greek is a plus. The teaching load is 3/3 with one of these courses per year within the Department of History. The successful candidate will possess a demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate courses and conduct quality research in Roman history. A Ph.D. in Classics is required by the time of appointment.

The Department of Classics has 7 faculty members and enjoys strong enrollments in Latin, Greek, Greek and Roman culture, history, and archaeology.
