The Department of Classics, University of California, Santa Barbara, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Greek Literature, beginning July 1, 2016. Candidates are sought whose research interests are complementary to those of current faculty. Ph.D. in Classics or a comparable degree (including Comparative Literature/Classics) expected by the time of appointment. A record or promise of excellence in both teaching and research is essential, and the successful candidate should be able to contribute to our program as a whole, including Greek at all levels, graduate courses and seminars, and large humanities courses in Greek mythology and Classical literature and civilization.
