The Department of History and Philosophy at Kennesaw State University invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track, assistant professor position in the History of the Ancient World beginning August 2015. Field is open, but the ideal candidate will be expected to teach courses in ancient Greek and Roman history, a world history survey, and courses that support the major in their area of specialization. In addition to advising and service, the candidate will be expected to make contributions to the Classical Studies Program. A commitment to excellence in teaching, complemented by strong scholarship and service is expected of all faculty members in KSU’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences. A Ph.D. in History or related studies or the foreign equivalent, or its equivalent in training, ability, and/or experience is required as well as a record of effective university teaching and demonstrated potential for research.
