Assistant Professor of Instruction in Classics

The Department of Classics at Northwestern University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Instruction in Classics. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, non-tenure, teaching-track position, with a primary responsibility in instruction. Initial appointment is for two years and may be renewed based on strong individual performance, with eventual possibility of promotion. Teaching responsibilities include courses in Greek language and literature at all levels and classes in the candidate’s other areas of expertise and interest. Strong evidence of dynamic, successful teaching is essential. We particularly welcome candidates with established interests in the reception of the cultures of classical antiquity from early modernity to the present. Ph.D. is required by the time of appointment, September 1, 2015.
