Cornell University Doctoral/Postdoctoral Diversity Fellowships

Classics Department

The Department of Classics at Cornell University solicits applications for two-year postdoctoral diversity fellowships from scholars from sectors of the population historically underrepresented on professorial faculties. Examples of eligibility criteria include membership of a minority, first-generation college graduates, those who have faced economic hardship, or those who work on topics related to these phenomena. Fellowships will be offered only to those applicants who would make very strong candidates for a tenure-track position that the department expects to have open in the next two-to-three years. 2015-16 award level is: $56,000. For more information, see http://as.cornell.edu/academics/opportunities/diversity-fellowships/

Applications for postdoctoral diversity fellowships in Classics should be submitted electronically to Katrina Neff at: kn59@cornell.edu. Applications should include a cover letter discussing research and teaching, curriculum vitae, a dissertation abstract, a writing sample, and a statement of the grounds for eligibility for the fellowship and at least two letters of recommendation. Recommenders are asked to submit letters of reference electronically. The deadline for receipt of applications is November 22, 2014.
