The Department of Classics at Cornell University seeks to appoint a Lecturer to teach beginning and intermediate (primarily undergraduate) language courses in ancient Greek, Latin and Sanskrit to begin July 2016. The appointment will be for an initial term of three academic years, with subsequent renewals possible which will be based upon performance as well as funding. It will be the responsibility of this instructor to offer six semester-long courses or equivalent per year. Normally two of these courses will be in Sanskrit and the others will be variously divided from year to year between Latin and ancient Greek. Native or near-native-level fluency in English is a requirement for this teaching position. M.A. required, but Ph.D. preferred.
