The Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations at Yale University is seeking to appoint one or more senior scholars whose work falls in or complements the fields traditionally associated with the Department, i.e., Arabic and Islamic Studies, Archaeology of the Ancient Near East, Assyriology, Egyptology, Graeco-Arabic Studies, and Northwest Semitic--Comparative Semitics. The appointment(s) will begin as early as July 1, 2016. Scholars with a proven track record of teaching and advising, as well as an excellent national and international scholarly profile, are invited to apply by sending a letter of interest and curriculum vitae, including the names of three referees, to the Acting Chair, Christina Kraus (christina.kraus@yale.edu).
