The Departments of Classics and Religion at Whitman College is seeking candidates for a one-year position in Classics and Religion, with expertise in classical languages and the study of religion, at the rank of visiting assistant professor, beginning August 2022. A Ph.D. is required.

The successful candidate will be expected to offer courses in their area of specialty at a range of levels in the Departments of Classics and Religion. Areas of specialization may include any aspect of religions in antiquity. The successful candidate will also have demonstrated expertise in teaching courses at all levels of ancient Greek and/or Latin. The annual teaching load is five-course equivalent.
