VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF CLASSICS: Emory University, Atlanta, GA – 1 position

The Department of Classics at Emory University invites applications for a one year Visiting Assistant Professor of Classics for the academic year 2022-2023. We seek a dynamic, innovative scholar-teacher, with strong skills in elementary language instruction and a vision for and demonstrated facility with large lecture courses designed to introduce undergraduates to the Classical world. Course load is 2-3. Fall semester courses are elementary Latin and Ancient Cities, Spring semester courses will include a lecture course of the candidate’s choosing. The department seeks a colleague to complement existing strengths within the department, and engage with students who seek to combine the humanistic with the pre-professional in their undergraduate experience.

The successful candidate will bring a demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring a student population diverse with respect to race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, gender and religion.
