The Department of Classics at Haverford College invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position to begin September 1, 2023. The successful candidate will teach five courses, including those in beginning, intermediate, and/or advanced Latin and/or Greek, and on classical literature and culture taught in translation that complement and expand our existing curriculum. This position will include the possibility of renewal for one additional year pending a successful review and departmental staffing needs. Candidates for this position should have a Ph.D. and demonstrated evidence of effective teaching. ABD candidates are encouraged to apply but must also provide assurance of completion of the degree by September 1, 2023.
