Boston University’s Department of Classical Studies invites applications for a full-time lecturer in Ancient Greek and Latin. The successful candidate will teach a 3-3 load. Responsibilities will include language instruction in Ancient Greek and Latin at the undergraduate and graduate level, and mentoring of graduate students teaching in our language program. The successful applicant will have a PhD in Classics or related field in hand by July 1, and a strong and demonstrated interest in inclusive language pedagogy. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in communicative approaches to teaching Ancient Greek and Latin; the ability to teach composition classes in both languages; and/or with experience in outreach to teachers and students at the secondary level. Experience in coordinating a language program is welcome but not necessary. The successful candidate values BU's commitment to serving a diverse student population and would join a welcoming department committed to mentoring and faculty support.
