The Department of Classics invites applications for a Dean’s Postdoctoral Scholar Fellow in Classics beginning August 2023. The department seeks a broadly-trained Classicist with teaching and research interests in Greek history or historiography of the wider Greek world whose interests complement those of existing faculty.

Ph.D. must be in hand at the time of appointment, and eligibility is limited to individuals who have received the Ph.D. after July 31, 2018. Initial appointment is for one year with renewal for a second upon satisfactory performance of assigned duties. Teaching load is two courses per semester and will include courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The Fellow is expected to carry out an active research program and to contribute to the intellectual life of the department; the Fellow will also have the opportunity to co-organize a workshop, colloquium, or similar event during the tenure of the fellowship. Salary is $50,000 per annum and includes health benefits.
