The Department of Classical Studies at the College of William and Mary invites applications for a one year, non-tenture-track visiting faculty position that will begin August 10, 2017, with the possibility of renewal for up to two additional years. The teaching load will be three courses a semester. We seek a specialist in Roman History who can contribute to our Greek and Latin curricula and to the broad range of courses we offer in Classical Civilization.

Title: Thomas F. Cooper Post-Doctoral Fellow in Classics

Job Summary:

Adjunct Instructor of Latin – to teach a two-course sequence of elementary Latin for the 2017–18 academic year: one section of Latin 101 in the fall and one section of Latin 102 in the spring. The position may be continued pending performance and funding.

Skidmore College invites applications for a full-time, two-year faculty position in Classics for the academic years 2017-2018 and 2018-2019. We are particularly interested in candidates from underrepresented backgrounds who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of our academic community and have experience teaching and mentoring a diverse student body. The Department of Classics at Northwestern University invites applications for a one-year appointment at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor for the academic year 2017-2018. This is a full-time and benefits eligible position.

The Program in Classical and Mediterranean Studies invites applications for a full-time Lecturer for the 2017-18 academic year, with possibility of renewal. Responsibilities will include teaching 3 course per semester: applicants should be prepared to teach survey courses in Greek and Roman civilization and/or in Greek myths, as well as an introductory course in Latin and an advanced course in Greek. Qualifications: Ph.D. and some teaching experience are required. Dossiers should include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, three letters of recommendation, and sample course syllabi.

The Department of Classical Studies at Indiana University, Bloomington, invites applications for its full-time Schrader Visiting Assistant Professorship in Classical Archaeology for the academic year 2017/18. The successful candidate will teach two advanced undergraduate courses in Greek Art and Archaeology and two large lecture courses (Ancient Athletics and Classical Mythology) over the course of the year. This position carries an annual salary of $60,000 and a $2,000 research budget. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. with strength in classical archaeology by July 1.

The Department of Classics announces a second Postdoctoral Fellowship beginning August 2017. Initial appointment is for one calendar year, with automatic renewal for two additional years pending satisfactory completion of duties, for a total of three years maximum. In addition to engagement with the undergraduate and graduate students and participation in the research program of the Department, the duties of the position shall include a teaching load of 2 courses each term, at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

The Department of Classics at Mount Allison University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Greek and Latin literature, beginning in July, 2017. This is subject to budgetary approval.
