The Department of Classics at The University of Iowa invites applications for a one year Lecturer with the opportunity to renew for two additional years, to begin August 16, 2017. This is a non-tenure track position. The teaching load is six courses per academic year. The successful candidate will teach courses in Latin or Greek as well as large lecture courses such as Mythology, Classical Literature in Translation, and Greek and Roman Civilization. The department also expects the candidate to develop a lecture-course for 100 undergraduates that complements current offerings and helps attract new majors. Ph.D. by time of appointment is required. Salary is dependent on candidate's experience and credentials.
