The Classics Department of Loyola University Maryland invites applications for a visiting full-time affiliate position at the rank of Visiting Affiliate Assistant Professor for AY ’15 -’16. Candidates should have a Ph.D. or be A.B.D. in Classics or Ancient History (with Ph.D. strongly preferred). Demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduate Latin and Greek and in teaching classical literature in translation is strongly desired and the promise of such excellence is essential. The successful candidate will be expected to teach four courses per semester (typically, these courses include introductory and intermediate Latin and Greek courses as well as courses in translation), to contribute service to the department and the University, and to participate in the life of the Department.
