Bucknell University seeks applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor to begin in August 2015 with the possibility of renewal for a second year. ABD considered; Ph.D. preferred. The department seeks a generalist philologist with an emphasis in Latin language and literature to teach a sequence of literature and civilization courses, Latin at all levels, and courses in the applicant's area of expertise (specific area of specialization is open).

Bucknell has a 6 course/year teaching load for visiting assistant professors. Our ideal candidate exhibits a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching in the liberal arts tradition and evidence of scholarly achievement or promise. The Classics department seeks student-centered faculty members with a demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity and the liberal arts mission.
