The Philology Institute's Summer Courses in Latin, Greek, and Hebrew
After a seven-year hiatus, the Ohio University Department of Classics and World Religions this summer will again offer its Greek in Greece program (Greek in Greece 2.0, if you will). Those familiar with the program that we offered beginning in the 1990s will recall that we required at least one year of prior study of ancient Greek and an interest in learning some modern Greek to go with it. That has not changed in the program's redesign.
The first class of the sequence, LAT 111: Elementary Latin I, will be offered in Fall 2017 on Mondays, 4:30-7:20 PM.
If interest and enrollment is sufficient, the remainder of the 24-credit sequence (for a total of 15 semester hours in Latin language and 9 hours in classical cultural topics) will be:

The M. Alison Frantz Fellowship, formerly known as the Gennadeion Fellow in Post-Classical Studies, was named in honor of photographer and archaeologist, M. Alison Frantz (1903 – 1995) whose photographs of antiquities are widely used in books on Greek culture.
Fields of study: Late Antiquity, Byzantine Studies, post-Byzantine Studies, or Modern Greek Studies.
The Munich School of Ancient Philosophy (MUSAPh) invites applications for funded doctoral positions. Dissertation proposals are welcome in all areas of ancient Greek and Roman philosophy, their medieval reception in Arabic and Latin, and textual criticism.
