The successful candidate will teach a 3-3 load including beginning and intermediate Latin, mythology, and classical literature in translation. The candidate will be expected to maintain an active research agenda.

Minimum education and experience requirements:

  • PhD in Classics or a related field Note: Applicants who are ABD for the terminal degree may be considered; however doctoral degree must be obtained within the first academic year of employment.
  • Experience teaching Latin
  • Demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching.
  • An active research program in Classics or related field
  • Demonstrate the ability to think broadly about the value of Classical Studies for students across a wide range of majors.
