Field Crew Chief

The Bradstreet Project seeks a full-time field archaeologist to serve as crew chief to support the Principal Investigators on a colonial period Massachusetts excavation from early June to early November. Housing may be offered for a strong non-local candidate.

Duties:

We seek a candidate with a specialty in ancient Mediterranean archaeology and material culture, with the ability to teach undergraduate courses in their specialty, as well as the ability to teach Latin and/or Greek at the beginning and intermediate levels. The candidate should also demonstrate experience in teaching languages and archeology with digital technologies or through digital humanities. Duties include a 4-course teaching load per semester focused on Greek and Latin, Mediterranean cultures, and archeology.

The Department of Art and Archaeology at Princeton University seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate to assist with the print and digital publication of the Molyvoti, Thrace, Archaeological Project, a co-operation between the American School of Classical Studies at Athens, represented by Princeton University, and the Rhodope Ephorate of Antiquities. The archaeological project in Aegean Thrace consisted of surface survey; the excavation of two Classical houses with Late Roman re-occupation; the excavation of a Hellenistic temple.

Visiting Position in Ancient Technologies or Archaeological Materials

Wesleyan University’s Archaeology Program invites applications for a one year full-time Visiting Assistant Professor in Archaeological Science with a focus on Ancient Technologies or Archaeological Materials, to begin September 1, 2024. The initial appointment is for one year and is renewable for a second year based on performance.

The Department of Global Languages and Cultures in the College of Arts & Sciences at Texas A&M University invites applications for a full-time Visiting Lecturer (Non-Tenure) position in Classics with a 9-month academic appointment for academic year 2024-2024. The anticipated start date is August 1, 2024. The successful candidate will be expected to teach four (4) courses per semester.

The UCLA Department of Classics is authorized to appoint an Adjunct Assistant Professor specializing in Greek and/or Roman Material Culture.

Duties: The successful candidate will teach 4-5 courses per year over three quarters, maintain an active research agenda, and participate in departmental activities and service; the ability to teach Greek or Latin at an intermediate level or higher is desirable, though not essential.

The Classical Languages and Cultural Activities Coordinator (CLCAC) works for the Classics Department to assist in language teaching and cultural programming. Colorado College, a liberal arts institution that prizes innovative, interdisciplinary and student-focused teaching, operates on the Block Plan, where students take only one seminar-style class at a time for three and a half weeks and there are four such “blocks” per semester.
