Wabash College invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Classics to begin July 1, 2016. The initial appointment is for one year, with renewal for a second year possible based on a determination of college circumstances and needs. Candidates must be generalists with demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching, an appreciation for the broad intellectual community of an excellent liberal arts college, and the ability to work with a diverse student body.
The Department of Classical Studies at the University of Missouri, Columbia, invites applications for a one-year position as visiting assistant professor in Latin literature to begin in fall 2016. The teaching load is three courses per semester. Candidates must have the PhD. in hand by the start of the appointment. The salary will be $42,000/year plus full benefits.
Carleton College invites applications for a one-year position in the Department of Classics beginning September 1, 2016. We are seeking an entry-level teacher/scholar with broad interests in all aspects of Classical antiquity. Ph.D. or its imminent completion is required. Responsibilities include teaching Latin and Greek at all levels, as well as courses in translation. Area of specialization is open, but we are particularly interested in candidates with teaching interests in any one of the following: ancient drama, myth, or a similarly broad literary/cultural area.
The Department of Classics at Dartmouth College seeks to appoint a visiting lecturer for the 2016-17 and 2017-18 academic years. Candidates for this position should be specialists in ancient Greek or Latin language and literature, preferably with Ph.D. in hand, who are prepared to teach courses in Greek and Latin at all levels as well as one or more courses in Classical civilization. This two-year position requires teaching five courses over three ten-week academic quarters each year, starting in June, 2016. The post comes with competitive salary and benefits.
