The Department of Classics at Washington and Lee University invites applications for a one-year visiting position at the rank of assistant professor. The successful candidate must be able to teach Latin at all levels, as well as courses in classical civilization. Preference will be given to those candidates whose research interests lie in ancient history. The teaching load is 6 courses during the academic year. We are especially interested in candidates whose research and teaching complement current strengths of the department. Candidates should have their Ph.D.
