The Department of Classics in the College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Cincinnati invites applications for a tenure track position in Ancient Greek and Latin language and literature at the level of Assistant Professor, to begin August 15, 2018.

Each year the Institute for the Study of the Ancient World, New York University, makes about 7 appointments of visiting research scholars. ISAW's scope embraces research and graduate education in the history, archaeology, and culture of the entire Old World from late prehistoric times to the eighth century CE, including Asia and Africa. Projects of a theoretical or comparative nature relevant to this domain are also welcome.

The Institute for the Study of the Ancient World, New York University, seeks to make an appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure-track) of a scholar with a focus in the history and archaeology of the ancient Mediterranean, with preference for emphasis on the first millennium BCE, who can blend innovative and rigorous methodological approaches to interpret texts, objects, sites, and landscapes. We are looking for someone with a broad range of interests and a commitment to the study of connections across geographical and chronological lines.

Duties include teaching all levels of Ancient Greek and Latin courses at the undergraduate level, as well as courses in the Humanities, developing courses and conducting research in the area of specialization, mentoring students, and participating in department, college, and university committees.

The Department of Classics at the University of California, Los Angeles, has been authorized to make an appointment to a full-time position in the language and culture of Modern Greece at the rank of Lecturer, effective July 1, 2018, with a minimum of three years of funding earmarked for the position.
