We cordially invite applications for the Eli J. and Helen Shaheen Professorship in Classics at the University of Notre Dame, to begin July 1, 2020. We welcome applications from Hellenists to be hired at the rank of Associate or Full Professor (with tenure), particularly those who specialize in Greek poetry of the Archaic or Classical periods or who would otherwise complement existing departmental strengths. Applicants are required to have a Ph.D. or equivalent and should already have significant records of publication, teaching, and service.

The Department of Literature at the University of California, San Diego seeks to make a full-time, tenure track appointment of an Assistant Professor of Mediterranean Studies, with emphasis on Latin literature and culture. The candidate must have a PhD degree in Classics or related fields by time of appointment. The successful candidate will be both highly competent in the Latin language and will be able to demonstrate interest in and commitment to the comparativist study of the Roman Empire, and of relations among different regions and cultures across Africa, Europe, and Asia.

The Program in Classical and Medieval Studies, Bates College in Lewiston Maine, invites applications for an approved Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Classical and Medieval Studies (300-1500 CE) to begin August 1, 2020. We are particularly interested in candidates with significant interdisciplinary training who can teach a broad range of topics, such as the history and culture of Late Antiquity and medieval societies and/or the interactions of Western European, Byzantine and Islamic cultures.

The Department of Classics at Georgetown University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor of Latin to begin in August 2020. We are looking for candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas, which would complement the strengths of our department:

- late antique or medieval Latin

- the culture and society of the later Roman Empire

- aspects of the traditions of writing in Latin and their importance up to the present day

Haverford College invites applications for a tenure-track position in the Department of Classics at the rank of Assistant Professor. The position will start in Fall 2020 and qualified candidates should have completed the PhD at the time of the appointment.

The University Center for Human Values at Princeton University invites applications for Laurance S. Rockefeller Visiting Faculty Fellowships for the academic year 2020-21. Fellows devote an academic year in residence at Princeton to research and writing about topics involving human values in public and private life. This full-time visiting program is open to scholars in all disciplines provided their research plans qualify.
