The Joukowsky Institute for Archaeology and the Ancient World at Brown University invites applications from exceptional junior scholars who have demonstrated a capacity for innovative research and cross-disciplinary thinking. We seek candidates who best augment or complement the present strengths of the Joukowsky Institute community. We are particularly interested in individuals working in three spheres: 1) the archaeology and art of the ancient Near East; 2) the archaeology and art of Rome; 3) Late Antiquity.

The Department of Classical Studies at Tulane University has been approved to make a one-year non-tenure-track appointment at the rank of visiting assistant professor to begin July 1, 2015. The Department of Classics at Dartmouth College invites applications for a full-time visiting position in Classics, starting June, 2015. We seek a Classicist, preferably with Ph.D. in hand, to teach courses in Classical Mythology, Latin and Greek at all levels, and possibly one or more courses in translation. The position carries a five course load. Valparaiso University invites applications for a one-year position in Classics at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor (or Visiting Instructor for an ABD-candidate) beginning approximately August 15, 2015. Candidates should have the Ph.D. completed or nearly completed and the ability to teach all levels of Greek and Latin languages, Greek and Roman History, and perhaps some material culture courses, like Classical Archaeology. Strong generalists with a record of excellent teaching and research interests in ancient history or material culture will be given priority.

The Department of Classical Studies at Indiana University, Bloomington, invites applications for a full-time visiting assistant professorship in the field of Greek Art and Archaeology for the academic year 2015/16. The successful candidate will teach two undergraduate courses each semester, one of which will be a section of Classical Mythology (a large lecture course), the other a course in Greek Art and Archaeology. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. with strength in classical archaeology by July 1.

The Department of the Classics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign invites applications for a full-time 9 month, non-tenure track appointment at the rank of Lecturer in the area of Classical Greek Archaeology, beginning 16 August 2015. The position may be renewable subject to enrollments, funding, and positive performance reviews. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The Department of Classics and Religious Studies at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln invites applications for a one year term position at the rank of Lecturer, beginning in August 2015. Ph.D. is preferred. We seek a Classicist with broad training in the languages, literatures, and cultures of the ancient world. Teaching load is 4/3 and includes Greek and Latin at all undergraduate levels, as well as courses on literature and culture in translation. Ability to attract undergraduates with a popular large class in addition to Mythology is a plus.
