Assistant Professor of Instruction in Classics

SUNY Buffalo seeks a Post-Doctoral Scholar (PS) for its Interdisciplinary Institute for European and Mediterranean Archaeology (IEMA). During a twelve month tenure, the PS teaches one graduate seminar (preferably on the topic of the symposium,) organizes a symposium, and edits a subsequent volume reflecting IEMA's focus on post-Pleistocene European and Mediterranean anthropological and classical archaeology.

The Program in South Asian Studies at Princeton University is accepting applications for a full-time, three-year lecturer position in Sanskrit (with possibility of renewal) beginning September 1, 2015. The successful applicant will be asked to teach a total of five courses over two semesters (including courses at the introductory, intermediate, and advanced levels) and to advise undergraduate and graduate research.

The Department of Classical Studies at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, invites applications for a tenure-track position in Greek literature at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin in Fall 2015. PhD must be in hand, or date of defense firmly set, at time of application. We are most interested in candidates whose work engages poetry of the fifth and fourth centuries BCE, especially Greek drama. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute broadly to our curriculum, from introductory languages and courses in translation through graduate seminars.

Indo-European Studies -- The Program in Indo-European Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles, invites applications for an open-rank position in Indo-European Studies. Senior applicants will be considered for the A. Richard Diebold Chair in Indo-European Studies. Applicants should have the PhD in hand and broad training in the linguistics and philology of the principal ancient and medieval Indo-European languages and in the linguistic and cultural reconstruction of Proto-Indo-European. The Department of Classical Studies at Tulane University has been approved to make a tenure-track appointment at the rank of assistant professor to begin July 1, 2015. We are seeking a specialist in Greek or Roman culture and society, including, but not limited to, fields such as ancient medicine, slavery, religion, or gender studies.
