The Department of Classics at The University of Iowa invites applications for a three-year Visiting Assistant Professor, to begin August 2019. This is a non-tenure track position. The teaching load is six courses per academic year. The successful candidate will teach Latin, Greek, ancient medicine, and other courses on the ancient world in English. Teaching experience in Latin, evidence of ability to teach Greek, and a record of teaching experience, research, or coursework in ancient science or medicine are required. A Ph.D. at the time of appointment is required.

Job Description:

The Archaeology Program at Boston University seeks a Lecturer who can serve as instructor for courses in archaeological sciences and/or geospatial analyses. The course load is 3/2, and candidates should be able to teach introductory courses in general archaeology as well as upper-division undergraduate and graduate courses providing overviews of archaeological sciences (e.g., paleobotany, zooarchaeology, geochemistry, dating methods, isotopic analyses) and/or geospatial methods (e.g., remote sensing, GIS).

Job Summary:

The Department of Classical Studies at Wellesley College invites applications for a full-time, two-year position for the academic years 2019-20 and 2020-21. The ideal candidate will have completed the PhD by Oct. 1, 2019, and have successful experience teaching Greek and Latin. Likely teaching program of five courses per year would include Latin and Greek courses at all levels, and courses taught in translation. Salary highly competitive.

The Department of the Classics seeks applications for a College Fellow in Ancient History. The appointment is expected to begin on July 1, 2019. The Fellow will be responsible for three courses, comprising either three undergraduate courses or two undergraduate courses and a graduate seminar, with 25% of the appointment reserved for the Fellow’s own research. The Fellow may also advise and evaluate senior theses or conduct reading courses with graduate students, and contribute to the supervision of graduate research.
